Using HV3Dworks as a test case, we will discuss how cutting edge 3D Technologies can be applied to “traditional” industries such as Automotive Restoration and Customization. 3D printing’s ability to produce low volume and/or highly complex components in a cost effective manner represents a real boon to the industry. As professional restorers, we are well aware of the challenge of finding rare components which often need complete restoration before they are usable. By applying new technologies to an “old school” industry, we are helping to drive both industries forward. Our story represents a “real world” application of additive manufacturing and is only the tip of the iceberg.
