Developing a strong workforce, both now and in the future, depends on a clear strategy – first understanding the impact of 3D printing on your value chain, then understanding the skills you or your company needs to deliver that value, and finally, clearly connecting to the types of trainings, certifications and education needed to attain those skills. In this presentation, Members of America Makes discuss the education ecosystem, the specific key skills and gaps that industry has identified as critical to advancing additive manufacturing in their companies, and an overview of the different trainings, certifications and education opportunities in the additive space. They will highlight a number of key high impact initiatives – certificate programs, bootcamps and courses recently developed to accelerate the adoption of 3D printing technology, as well as share insights from the Workforce and Education Outreach Roadmap, a national investment strategy to advance 3D printing in the US.
