Brian Fisher is a PhD candidate under Professor Jack Beuth at Carnegie Mellon University. Brian’s research focuses on how background temperatures affect outcomes for metal parts produced by both laser and electron beam powder bed additive manufacturing. This research includes in-situ parameter modification as well as feed-forward quality control strategies based on data obtained by high speed imaging and thermal sensors.
