Director, Global Aftermarket Parts Strategy and Transformation
Don is the General Manager of Global Parts Strategy and Transformation for Caterpillar’s Industry Solutions, Components and Distribution Division. In this role, he is responsible for creation of a multi-year, cross enterprise plan to integrate current best in class performance with disruptive technologies & cross-industry best practices to increase bottom-line results. Prior to this role, he managed a department that led the company to record and Best in Class global supply base on-time delivery, quality and packaging performance for Aftermarket Parts across all Caterpillar manufacturing facilities and over 8,500 external suppliers. Jones, who joined Caterpillar in 1988 from Motorola, has held various positions in the areas of international telecommunications, information systems development, supply chain solution implementations, logistics sales and general manager roles. He left Caterpillar in 2004 to own and operate a residential construction corporation, returning to Caterpillar in 2008 as Global Quality General Manager where he led the company to record levels of quality control. Jones holds a degree in Business Management from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science degree in International Logistics and Supply Chain Management from The Georgia Institute of Technology.
