US Army ARDEC
Mr. James Zunino is a Materials Engineer and the AM Technical Lead at the U.S Army Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. He holds a Master’s of Business Administration and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Mr. Zunino serves as the ARDEC Subject Matter Expert on additive manufacturing, smart coatings, flexible electronics, material printing, and novel ink development. He works in the fields of chemical and materials engineering providing support for the broad ARDEC mission. He conducts research and is responsible for designing, testing, and overseeing additive manufacturing, flexible electronics, sensors, active coatings & systems, as well as maintaining a state-of-the-art Device Prototyping & Manufacturing via Advanced Materials Facilities. He is the Co-Chair of the Army’s AM Community of Practice. He also established and chairs the Printed Electronics, Energetics, Materials,& Sensors (PEEMS) Working Group. The PEEMS WG is the primary group for technical, programmatic, and development efforts in flexible electronics, materials printing, direct write, and other related materials development & device prototyping efforts. Mr. Zunino works with customers and end users to develop prototypes and provides solutions to help meet needs and requirements. He has received numerous awards including: Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award, Department of the Army Research and Development Achievement Award, IDTechEx Academic R&D, as well as numerous other DoD and Industry awards.
