Jorge Lino Alves, 54 years old, Associate Professor Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto, Porto, Portugal, and Researcher (ORCID number 0000-0002-9327-9092) of INEGI, and participates in the Portuguese Associate Laboratory LAETA – Laboratory of Energy, Transports and Aeronautics. PhD in Materials Science, Ceramics field, Lehigh University, USA (1997). Adjunct Director of the Master Program in Product and Industrial Design and belongs to the Scientific Commission of the Master Program in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship (MIETE). Director of DESIGNSTUDIO FEUP. Teaches several courses of Materials and Manufacturing Processes, in the Integrated Master Programs in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management, Master Program in Product and Industrial Design and in the MIT Portugal program EDAM – Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing. Present research areas are related with Additive Manufacturing (direct and indirect manufacturing of parts and moulds and conversion technologies), Foundry, Product Design and Development, Ceramic Materials and Materials tests and properties. Published 1 book about Additive Manufacturing (2001) and other about Construction Materials for mechanical engineering (2013). Presented more than 110 communications in national and international events, 77 papers in journals and chapters of books, 134 papers in conferences, 48 posters, 4 technical videos about technological innovation and 10 prizes in national and international contests. Participated in several national and international projects of Innovation and Development as coordinator and collaborator. Reviewer of several Scientific Journals, such as J. Am. Ceram. Soc., J. Rapid Prototyping, J. Process. Mech. Eng., J. Mats. Eng. Innovation, etc.
