Global Sales Director Disruptive Technologies and Markets
GKN Powder Metallurgy
Markus Josten has been with GKN since 2004, holding several engineering positions within their core technologies. He became an Account Manager in 2008 to experience how GKN components worked in new automotive applications, which quickly brought his attention to Additive Manufacturing. GKN started to step into metal powder related technology in 2013 by buying the first SLM printer. While developing new technology for their customer needs, GKN wanted to break the rules and started a very unusual journey for a 258 year old company. They were asked to move to San Francisco with a small group of open minded people and discover what was possible. They dived into the new digital world and created a digital storefront for metal printed parts from GKN. Besides bringing new ways of working, they also brought new ways of thinking. With the support of the management team, a new business unit was created within a traditional Aerospace/ Automotive company, which allowed them to operate in start-up like agile structures. Mr. Josten is currently the Global Head of Commerical and Communications and part of a team who helps GKN to create value with the use of Additive Manufacturing.
