Dr. Mathieu Brochu is a Gerald Hatch Faculty Fellow on AM, was a Tier-2 Canada Research Chair (CRC; 2006-16) in pulse processing of nanostructured materials and a Hydro-Quebec Nano-Engineering Scholar (2009-14). He is the Director of the P2AM2 facilities. Dr. Brochu is leading research programs on AM (powder bed, direct energy deposition and direct writing), and rapid powder consolidation and densification of AM/PM-based components. He received his Ph.D. (Hons) in 2003 from McGill University. He then worked at the National Research Council of Canada – Aerospace Manufacturing and Technology Center on electron beam welding and additive manufacturing of aerospace materials. Prior to returning at McGill, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Advanced Materials Laboratory – Sandia National Laboratories.
