Parth Vaishnav is a research engineer at the Department of Engineering & Public Policy (EPP) at Carnegie Mellon University. He is interested in understanding how technology can be deployed to solve society’s problems. Inevitably, this requires an understanding of how the obstacles associated with the adoption of new technologies might be overcome and pitfalls avoided. Vaishnav has a PhD in EPP from Carnegie Mellon. He spent a year at the University of Cambridge, getting an MPhil in Technology Policy. His undergraduate education at the National University of Singapore was in mechanical engineering, where he produced ceramic-reinforced polymer scaffolds for tissue engineering applications.
