Additive Manufacturing (AM) affords new ways of solving manufacturing challenges - from its first beginnings as a rapid prototyping tool, to production uses where novel product designs are used to achieve breakthrough performance, to maintenance and sustainment of aging systems. The supply chain for delivering AM enabled solutions shares some of the same resources as traditionally manufactured products, however AM does have some unique aspects. These unique aspects must be considered during the design process to fully realize the schedule, scope and cost saving opportunities. As an augment to the presentation materials, this workshop includes an interactive, applied learning exercise in which participants will build a business case for a real world AM application.
