Over the past year, generative design has really picked up steam as more and more companies invest in the “Factory of the Future” and “Industry 4.0” as they see the benefits associated with automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies, the same benefits and principles that are clearly seen for design and simulation in generative design.  This presentation will explore engineering excellence for topology optimization that generates optimal design concepts while respecting functional requirements and specifications. Generative design captures all the best practices from a previously disjointed process and reduces the amount of time for engineers to identify new shapes that can maximize their business needs.  Through the presentation we will move the discussion from ideation to exploration and ultimately into how companies across our industry are successfully leveraging generative design for the manufacture of parts.
