The workshop consists of an introductory presentation followed by the dividing up of the participants into 4 groups.  Each group will tour 4 separate booths in which scanning technologies will be displayed and explained by a subject matter expert. Where appropriate there will be opportunities to be "hands on".  The workshop will conclude with a summary and questions.

Every year at RAPID +TCT there is a proportion of the audience coming to see scanning and metrology technology for the first time. Attending this session will give newcomers the confidence to attend Scanning track presentations and understand what they are hearing and very importantly, if they are on the show floor they will be less likely to be misled by vendors and buy the wrong thing.

By involving competing vendors in the workshop means there is a balance and actually prevents the workshop being overtly commercial in any one direction.

Learning Objectives:

  • Have a basic understanding of the importance of Metrology and Scanning to Additive Manufacturing.
  • Have the ability to understand and engage with confidence in discussions around the subject of Metrology and Scanning
  • Have the ability to discern what technology is right for them and not be sold the wrong thing by vendors on the show floor.
