De-mystifying LPBF Throughput

In this talk we will present a holistic view of LPBF throughput. How is throughput calculated and how does it affect per-part costs? What are the targets for the future, what are the physics limits, and what are the different approaches that can help address the throughput question? Methodologies currently being employed industry, including multiple lasers, high power – high layer thickness AM, variable spot size adjustment, tailored materials and more will be explained. While the challenges associated with each of these methods are plenty, the opportunity is immense, showing that there’s more room for growth and improvement in LPBF AM.
