Ceramic Additive Manufacturing is well positioned to improve the performance and sustainability of products across many industries, but the unique properties of ceramic materials are not yet widely appreciated. This presentation will discuss the benefits of replacing polymers or metals with ceramics in a variety of applications. We'll review the additive manufacturing methods used for ceramic materials, along with their economic and sustainability considerations. The applications of silicon nitride will be presented as a case study by SiNaptic Technologies, a startup dedicated to the development and manufacturing of ceramic materials, with a focus on leveraging the distinctive properties of silicon nitride to improve lives.
Learning Objectives:
- Compare various methods of manufacturing ceramic components, both conventional and
- Weigh the unique properties and advantages of popular ceramic materials used in additive
- Understand the economic and sustainability considerations of ceramic additive manufacturing.
