This workshop provides a detailed look at AM advance topics such as AM powders, AM process issues, AM qualification, and AM standards. It gives examples of the everyday problems and processes with metal AM technologies. New standards are being developed to help qualify the AM processes for production environments and are already being accepted by governing organizations such as the FAA and FDA. We will go into detail on the new technologies and applications.

Learning Objectives:

  • Introduce the method of powder production and characterization
  • Follow current and future ASTM F42 standards
  • Give examples of advance AM issues such as build failures
