Introduction to Additive Manufacturing Technologies

This workshop introduces participants to the different technologies in 3D Printing (3DP)/Additive Manufacturing (AM). A detailed description of each technology is covered; the most commonly used discussed; the latest systems highlighted; attributes of each discussed. The most widely used material properties from each technology will be discussed. A brief description of the workflow of additive manufacturing from CAD input, design-for-additive manufacturing to final part production will be presented.

Case studies utilizing the different technologies will be presented, ranging in applications from design verification, functional testing to serial production. The workshop is intended to enlighten the participants about 3D printing and additive manufacturing technologies and enable them to have a baseline when engaging colleagues, clients and vendors.
