For the first time, Hasbro's Selfie Series is bringing mass customization to customers through 3D printed, personalized action figures. The product incorporates customer facial scans into custom 3D printed head and hair components. Formlabs collaborated with the leading toy brand to develop novel SLA resin formulas suitable for this end use application. Carefully tailored material properties include a range of inclusive and realistic hair and skin colors, high impact resistance, and meeting skin contact and toxicity standards. Our presenters share how unlocking mass customization for one industry can open the door to highly customized or personalized products for any business.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how organizations collaborate to achieve mass customization at scale
  • Make objective decisions about new material needs and scope of customization
  • Consider diversity and inclusion in development of a consumer product
