Simulation tools for Additive Manufacturing are well established for metal, laser powder bed fusion processes.  However, simulation of other processes, such as binder jetting, directed energy deposition and DLP-based photopolymer processes are less mature.  In this talk an overview of emerging AM simulation capabilities will be discussed, with a particular focus on capabilities under development that will become widely available over the next 1-3 years.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define the key benefits of AM simulation
  • Understand current trends in AM simulation and how they are being applied to new and emerging AM processes
  • Intelligently interact with AM simulation software providers to find the best simulation tools for your own use
