Industrializing Additive Manufacturing is more than making materials and equipment that are accurate and robust enough to meet typical manufacturing expectations. The true test is the robustness of the entire manufacturing eco system from development to delivering production parts. GM worked extensively to develop a robust additive supply chain capable of delivering 115 polymer and metal parts into a viable production solution. Learnings on Application, supplier, and process development, along with post processing challenges will be shared.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon Completion, Participants will be able to define the scope of tasks required to launch a product in the automotive industry
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to list supplier development requirements
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to list the challenges to meet cosmetically finished AM Metal parts.
