Andrew Purvis is a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Additive & Composite Automation Projects at Electroimpact Inc. During the past 20 years at Electroimpact, he has helped concept, design, install, and support integrated manufacturing lines for aerostructure companies all over the world. He currently manages projects involving additive manufacturing, automated composite part layup, and composite part fabrication. The primary technologies he specializes in are flexible automated manufacturing cells built around quick-change modular process heads. These modular process heads include, Advanced 3d printing, Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), Automated Tape Laying (ATL), milling, trimming, ultrasonic cutting and welding. Electroimpact is one of the world largest aerospace automation and tooling companies and is based in the city of Mukilteo WA just outside Seattle in the United States.
