Clay Olson has 13 years of hands-on EDM experience performing test cuts, customer demonstrations, installations and engineering solutions to precision manufactures. He is proficient in CNC programming, 3D printing technologies, laser part marking, EDM drilling, wire EDM and automation solutions for many highly technical products. At 26 years old, Clay headed up a project to put an automated cell of 3 Fanuc WEDM machines with a Fanuc Robot into a leading medical job shop in Minnesota. This was a million-dollar investment that the customer chose and trusted Clay’s solution to meet their future manufacturing needs. This cell was featured in the Spring 2018 issue of EDM Today Magazine.
In recent years Clay has developed a passion for newly surfacing recirculating Moly WEDM technology. This style of equipment is widely unknown in the United States and is suited toward removing 3D metal printed parts from their build plates. Clay has had had great success working with companies like EOS, Velo3D and Protolabs in greatly reducing the cost and time it takes for this post-processing part of the metal additive work flow.
