Dr. Iaquinto leads the VA Ventures research department, which supports the complete product lifecycle with pre-product discovery, required regulatory studies, and post-market research activities. He brings over 11 years of VA research experience, and 3 years of product development experience to this role. Dr. Iaquinto's research background includes PI or Investigator roles in numerous pilot, merit, high-risk/reward, career and research center projects spanning orthopedic injury and disease, orthotics/prosthetics, and advanced diagnostics. His product development background includes lead of PAPR hood development project which received NIOSH PHE approval during the COVID-19 pandemic; PI for a VA multi-site non-inferiority clinical study of 3D printed swabs; and project development lead for the VHA Radiotherapy Bolus, a 3D printed personalized class 2 medical device. Dr. Iaquinto is driving additional opportunities to sustain and mature collaborative successes achieved during the pandemic into infrastructure that is ready to be engaged in mitigating the next crisis.
