Katie Weimer is Vice President of Regenerative Medicine at 3D Systems focused on developing 3D bioprinted human tissues. Specifically, she leads the company’s Regenerative Tissue Program which includes development and commercialization efforts, with an initial focus on regenerative breast tissue. Katie also supports the research partnership with United Therapeutics for 3D bioprinted organs.
Katie joined 3D Systems in 2007 and has spent her 15-year career advancing 3D printing in healthcare. Prior to her role in regenerative medicine, Katie led the company’s global personalized healthcare solutions and medical device manufacturing operations based in Littleton, Colorado, and Leuven, Belgium. As one of the pioneers of 3D printing in healthcare, she has published more than 15 peer-reviewed manuscripts in medical journals/books and holds two patents in the field. Katie holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
