Matthew Powelson is a robotics and machine learning engineer at the ARM Institute, where he is working to build a National AI Data Foundry for industry. Previously, he worked at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), contributing to ROS-Industrial (ROS-I) and creating robotic solutions for surface finishing applications. He then joined Tortuga AgTech, where he worked on building a fleet of autonomous strawberry-picking robots, with an emphasis on robotic perception and control. Matthew’s expertise includes integrating machine learning into automation systems to deliver practical, real-world solutions for complex environments.
