Michael Pratt is an additive manufacturing research engineer within the Additive Manufacturing Technology Development Group at UDRI. Pratt has over 10 years’ experience in contract research and development, including materials, manufacturing, and process development. He specializes in design for AM, AM process development, custom testing for additive parts, and mechanical design. His AM processes of experience include: Fused deposition modelling (FDM/FFF), pellet extrusion, digital light processing (DLP), and laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Pratt was the UDRI PI for America Makes Program: 3026, "Advanced Tools for Rapid Qualification: Corrosion of AlSi10Mg" which investigated the corrosion behavior of AlSi10Mg in various environments, including chloride and fuel based microbial environments.
