My education started with Tool & Die/Mold making right out of high school. I started working as a machinist but always yearned to learn and do more. I quickly added CAD skills early in my career and augmented that with Metrology and Quality Control. This led me to machine design and assembly, which then led to process development for medical devices. As part of the toolbox for process development in 2009 we brought in micro SLA printing and FDM technology. This eventually led to the creation of an internal service at Medtronic where we helped bring to life the creative ideas of anyone in our company. For the last 15 years I've stayed very hands on, making parts every day, using 5 major AM technologies. I am a lifelong learner. I have worked my way thru machining and quality diplomas, to an AAS degree, piled on a bunch of math, added multiple AM industry certificate courses, and am currently working on a Mechanical Engineering degree along with classes for a Biofabrication Certificate.
