Sheri is a NASA Aerospace Engineer at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) specializing in mechanical systems and working on a deployment structure Deployable Aperture Cover on the Roman Space Telescope. She has also led the efforts on a Goddard funded project to use more commercial 3D printing technologies at GSFC by working with the materials group to test and qualify additive manufactured parts. She has led efforts to work with external collaborators and identify inspection needs, specifically related to 3D printed materials and associated inspection requirements. She is currently testing plastic 3D printed parts that are electroplated with a thin metal coating to determine their benefits for space application. Her latest project recently sent parts to the International Space Station to be exposed to the space environment for a few months before being returned to earth for testing and observation.
