Todd Spurgeon

Applications Engineer
Todd joined EWI in 2024 after serving as an AM project engineer at America Makes. While there, he helped manage several work groups focused on design and value chain and technology road mapping. Prior to that position, Todd was involved in digital data production support at NAVAIR FRC-East Cherry Point. There, he worked on reverse engineering and detailed validation and qualification of additively and conventionally produced parts for flight, learning which applications best fit AM and how to communicate those qualifications for practical use. He completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Virginia Tech (DREAMs Lab) and Penn State ARL (CIMP-3D), respectively. His educational experiences exposed him to practical and methodical techniques for exploring limits for both metal and polymer AM technologies and enabled him to gain experience in process and system knowledge of 6 of 7 ASTM F42 Recognized AM technologies.
