Dr. Yash Bandari works at MELTIO Inc. as a Product Manager in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) group. Yash has extensive experience in directed energy deposition (DED) processes to his current work with managing special AM projects and developing product strategies. He has 10 years of experience in AM, having worked on wire + arc AM (WAAM), electron beam AM (EBAM), laser + wire AM (LMD-w) and blown powder additive manufacture. Yash received his master’s in manufacturing engineering from IIT Bombay, and then pursued his Ph.D. from Cranfield University, UK. He also gained experience working for TATA Motors Limited as a technical manager in the AM department; also for Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL), and most recently for EWI, where he was a subject matter expert (SME) and managed wire-DED projects at Buffalo Manufacturing Works (BMW). He has 2 provisional patents in his name. He published several articles, chaired various conferences, and gave numerous talks on AM. He is an editorial board member of ASTM journal ‘Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing’, and he reviewed nearly 100 articles for journals like Additive Manufacturing, and Robotics and Computer Integrated Manufacturing, to name a few. He is a part of ASTM F42 committee, where he was involved in developing design guidelines for DED processes, and he is also actively involved in ASM International, where he is a part of ‘Emerging Technologies Committee’.
