Additive Manufacturing (AM) is increasingly being adopted for the production of critical applications across a broad range of industry sectors. These products require rigorous certification, and in some cases regulatory approval, before being released to customers and put in service. To satisfy these requirements, several steps along the AM value chain need to be qualified. This panel will discuss the various qualifications that should be achieved when setting up AM facilities and equipment and establishing production processes. The panel will explore the critical role of industry consensus standards in establishing qualification procedures and various 3rd party certification programs to help drive consistent global AM production.
